Today I went for my 2 week weigh in and I am so frustrated right now I could screammmmmmmmmmmmmmm......I am still at 273 lbs (I know I lost those 2 lbs but that does not really count in my mind) and I cannot for the life of me get it to go down! I am working my *ss off and doing what I need to do but I am just not getting the results I want. I have a feeling this foot injury is partly to blame and I guess I need to up my cardio. Not sure what to do at this point - any ideas everyone?

Hi Mara! I totally get where your coming from! I have been at a pleatue (sp?) for 4 months now. UUGGG....
Here's what I keep telling myself:
extraordinary results requires extraordinary effort
I hate this quote. Seriously, I do. Probably because it puts the blame on myself as to why I'm not getting the results I want. Yep, I keep telling myself that quote over and over again - but you think I've done anything about it?
AARRRGGG...
Hi Mara - when I lost weight a few years ago, it was mostly by doing Weight Watchers. I was doing their points system, but then I hit a plateau so I switched to their core plan and the weight started coming off again. Maybe you need to shake things up, re-evaluate your eating and your exercise and try something new. Good luck!
I wish I had some great advice, all I know is to keep on watching the intake and it will start coming off again. The stalls really suck though!
i agree with liz-- it's definitely time to do something different. i bet if you do one thing different (like try a new class-- you are very adventurous!), or a new daily workout (like a 20 minute walk that gets your heart rate up), or drink 2 more glasses of water a day and eat 100 calories less, you will see the weight come off! good luck!
Mara, you may have hit a plateau but also considering you are doing a reasonable amount of exercise, are you eating enough? I personally found that since I increased what I ate that my losses were better. Frustrating I know. Martine
COME BY TODAY IF YER IN MY VIRTUAL HOOD!
we're talking plateaus.
ramble in the comments and Ill give you my thoughts as well...there are so many people struggling with this and I have soooo been there.
xo xo,
Miz.
Think of this plateau as an evil test of your committment. Will your desire for health triumph over a frustrating number on the scale? You can beat this! I agree with Liz - mix something up in your eating and exercise. Maybe focus on getting 3 servings of dairy per day or adding in a little more healthy oil.
Patience - this is a lifelong endeavor. :-) Getting fit up front will help everything else. And if you are injured, you have to allow for that, and not rush things. It'll all still be there once you're healed.
Also, be careful about EXPECTING results. Focus on behavior modification, rather than X results by X time or date. The latter is the road to discouragement. Every day, work on being that healthier, better, fitter person - and IN TIME, on your body's own timetable, it will happen.
